Ice Cream Stand
I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream! Does anything say Summer more than ice cream? Today I am sharing a simple ice cream station you can make to keep all your ice cream cones and toppings looking cute! And the best part is everything can be found at Michaels!
I love using power tools but I am not good with the rule measure twice, cut once. I tend to eyeball things (which you will be evident when you see the holes I drilled). But I promise this is a simple to make project!
Supplies Needed: Wood board
2 dowels
2 small wooden crates
glue
drill (1 1/2" circle)
small drill bit
sand paper
paint
fabric
string
Again, everything was from Michaels. The wood platform is about 14" long and 5" wide. I also found these two small crates that will serve as the base.
I drilled 4 holes across the center for the ice cream cones to fit in. I would take more time to measure your holes. I just eyeballed them and one is a little off center. But when it was all done I could barely tell.
I traced the dowel rods on each end then used a small drill bit to cut the holes. I wiggled it around until the entire hole was empty.
Add some glue to each hole then stick the dowels in each one. Allow to dry.
Sand the entire piece and wipe away the dust. Spray paint the stand (I used two coats) any color you prefer.
Create a garland for the top. I used three different patterns of fabric squres from Michaels (but I forgot to take a before picture. Here is an example:
To make a fabric garland cut each square in half (long ways). Then cut the fabric into strips. Tie each strand onto a piece of string in alternating patterns. (One bit of advice: tie each end of string onto two stationary objects. It's much easier to tie on the fabric.
Attach the garland to the top of your stand.
Fill your stand with ice cream cones then add small containers with your toppings. Enjoy!
