Pajama T-shirt
I'm getting ready for a "Breakfast In Bed" party and wanted some matching pajamas for the girls to wear without breaking the bank. How does $3.00 for a pajama dress sound??? And it was "sew" easy!
I would rate my sewing skills to be on about a 5th grade level. I can sew a straight(ish) line but could never follow a pattern or do much more. But if you can cut and sew a straight line I promise you can do this!
I bought adult medium t-shirts at Michaels for only $3.00 each. Now I completely eyeballed my measurements. I think if you wanted to get technical you could find a t-shirt the same size you need and make sure the arm holes will fit. But my eyeballing turned out just right!
Before, During, and After:
Step 1:
Fold the t-shirt in half and make sure everything matches up.
Step 2:
Draw a line from the opening of the sleeve to the bottom of the shirt. I figured approximately how wide the sleeve should be then had the line come in slightly in the chest area then went wider as it reached the bottom.
Step 3:
Cut out wear you drew the line. I cut both sides at the same time.
Step 4:
Flip the shirt inside out and pin each side down. The first one I made I didn't pin it I just held it together as I sewed. I strongly recommend pinning. The jersey material rolls easily and it was a pain to keep straight.
Step 5:
Flip it back to the other side and add any embellishment or wording. I used my Cameo Silhouette and heat press vinyl to write Sweet Dreams.
