Chopped Junior Birthday Party

It is amazing how many kids watch the Food Network Show Chopped and these 19 girls were no exception! They were beyond excited to get their mystery boxes and begin cooking.

Since there were so many, we kept the "cooking" to a minimum and the mystery box ingredients weren't too crazy.

To begin, each girl put on a "Don't Get Chopped" apron then they were ready to go.

The first activity was to decorate "Donut Stands" which they used in their round 2 recipes. I glued cardboard circles to plastic glasses then the girls used ribbons, gems, paper, markers and beads to decorate. I forgot to get a picture of the stands alone but here they are with the donuts.

Round 1: Mystery Boxes included crescent rolls, Cheez Its, and parsley. The girls worked in teams of 4 to make their creations. Like in the show Chopped, they had to use the mystery box ingredients but could also go to the Pantry for additional supplies. In all honestly, they all turned out as some variation of a pizza (lol).

Round 2: Mystery Boxes included biscuits, glaze, and potato chips. The girls worked individually and were required to make "Donuts". They cut holes in the center and we fried them in some oil. Then they were able to use all the ingredients and pantry items to decorate their donuts. You can see by the pictures they had some amazing creations!
