Watermelon Birthday
When Cindy contacted me about planning her granddaughter's birthday we threw around a few themes. The party is a combined 3rd birthday and going away party. The family is moving to Tennessee so the original theme was Wild and 3 in Tennessee. After a lot of thought we settled on Watermelon and it turned out so cute!
I was so glad Cindy wanted to send real invitations. It's been forever since I made them but they turned out adorable. They have stitching along the sides, are layered, and have a glittered watermelon raised on it. In a world of Evites and emails it's nice to get an actual invitation.
We picked light pink, hot pink and greens for the color scheme and then added all the details. I found this cute pink gingham fabric at Hobby Lobby then turned it into a tablecloth. I sewed sweet trim to the edges and voila! We had three total tables with pink and white flowers in mason jars as the centerpiece and added a burlap runner down the middle.
The guests dined on BBQ but my favorite were the fruit skewers in a watermelon half and individual salads with tiny salad dressings. I mean how cute are these little bottles? We did learn the ranch dressing did not come out as easily but the champagne vinaigrette was a hit.
The guests were also treated to a lemonade stand and some watermelon cupcakes!
Since it is a going away party the guests were able to write on a memory card keepsake for the family to have.
The guests were treated to a watermelon sugar cookie party favor at the end of the party.
